The Kitchen Closed Challenge invites you to avoid eating or drinking (except for water) after dinner for 25 of the next 30 days. Clean up your kitchen after dinner, turn off the lights, and stay out of the kitchen for the remainder of the evening. If you have a hard time remembering, brush your teeth after you finish cleaning the kitchen as a cue to remind you that you are done eating.
This practice eliminates unnecessary snacking after dinner, reducing your overall calorie intake. It also gives your body time to digest before going to bed, improving the quality of your sleep and making heartburn less of a risk. By avoiding beverages after dinner, you’ll improve your sleep by eliminating late night caffeine and reduce the chance that you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
